The study analyzed data from transgender people between 1972 and 2015 who received hormone therapy, but the study did not account for eating habits, or other risk factors like smoking.
The researchers found that transgender women had more than twice as many strokes and heart attacks when compared to cisgender women, but they also had five times as many deep-vein clots.
Transgender men had almost twice as many strokes and heart attacks when compared to cisgender men, but they also had four times as many deep-vein clots.
